The crew neck in natural tones with a drawstring and the wide knitted cuffs with slits give this oversize sweater a casual touch. Our sweater is knitted from 100% baby llama using a traditional technique that gives it its characteristic texture. The result is a light piece with plenty of room for easy movement and optimal comfort.
The model (1.60 m) wears size 1.
Llama wool, essential to the Andean ecosystem
Our llamas come from the mountain valleys of the Argentine Andes, up to around 4,000 m, and roam freely in the provinces of Salta and Jujuy. They are used to living in high, cold and dry areas and are kept by small producers and farmers. Their wool is obtained by hand shearing (unlike mechanical shearing), which fully respects the animal and does not harm it. Thanks to this privileged location, our llama wool has an excellent sheen, silkiness and fineness.
Baby llama is an exclusive fibre quality that comes from shearing the youngest animals. The "dehairing" process needed to obtain such a fine fibre is very complex.
Our collection of baby llama sweaters is based on the natural colours of the fibre (from natural white to black and various shades of grey and brown) and is made without chemical processes to minimise harmful substances for people and the environment.
Warm – Soft – Breathable – Eco-friendly
Noble, high-quality llama wool has special properties: it is warm, very light and strong, with excellent insulating properties. Because of the way they graze, llamas do not pull up vegetation like sheep, cows and goats do; they trim the grass instead, so pastures are better preserved. Finally, their small, padded feet do not destroy natural grassland or break up the soil when they walk.
